Martha Aldridge, wife of Dr. JW Aldridge, coroner of Fountain County died at Lakeview Hospital in Danville Tuesday afternoon, the result of injuries received when an auto in which she and her husband were riding collided with a Big Four passenger train at the Stevens Crossing west of Coving about five weeks ago.  Mrs. Aldrich made a brave fight for life and was supposed to be recovering from her more serious injuries when infection developed and her system was not strong enough to combat the poison.  Mrs. Aldridge was born near Covington July 27, 1897, the daughter of Charles F. and Ana B. Coffing. She was music and art teacher in the Covington schools and on June 8, 1922 was married to James W. Aldridge, veteran of the WW and young physician of Covington. She is survived by her husband, her father, one sister, Miss Nina Coffing and two brothers, Fletcher and Ira Coffing of Covington. She was a popular young woman, active in church and club work and her death is a distinct loss to the community.  Funeral Thursday at the Methodist Church Rev RB Kern officiating. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery. - kz
